Love for Lehmann

How can I hate Lehmann? I never liked him when Klinsmann axed my ever favorite Oliver Kahn off the World Cup team. Furthermore, I hated Germany to win because Lehmann, for whom I have no love for, just kicked Oliver his rightful place.

But the superb play of Lehmann makes me re-evaluate my position and realize how much effort, talent and experience there is in this player who started from nowhere, remained positive about his place and slowly but surely developed into the kind of player he is today.

Leading Arsenal to the European Cup final is a feat worthy of recognition; let alone, the way he defended Arsenal’s fate by stopping Riquelme on a penalty kick. Bummer! How could Riquelme miss that?
Or better yet how could Lehmann not stop Riquelme the way he is playing right now?
The patience of this guy in his career is commendable given the number of years he has to wait to get to this level as well as leaving the shadows of Oliver for good. He is now carving his own legacy.

How was it possible for a guy to start from the bottom coming to England and grow into the kind of player he is today despite nearing the end of his career?
Most people would call it quits; but not this man!

My hatred for Germany and whatever doubts I cast upon the team coming the World Cup is slowly being replaced by love. It seems Germany has a shot at the finals in June.

It seems “love” is catching up on Jens
