Spain on Raul’s shoulder?
There are a number of players who are not in top form come World Cup 2006. The latest addition to this list is Spain captain Raul who has been out for the last three months because of knee injury.
Despite being a non-factor on Real Madrid in favor of Ronaldo, Robinho, Julio Baptista and Antonio Cassano; he remains optimistic that his knee would help him have a great performance in the coming World Cup 2006.
With very little games as he approaches the World Cup; it would be quite difficult to put your bets on him carrying Spain. But who else can carry Spain?
His services and superb play at striker position is definitely needed by the team that lacks potent power to edge their competitors.
He is backed-up nonetheless by Spain’s coach, Luis Aragones, saying that he will have enough games before the World Cup to prepare him for the tourney.
Spain who belongs in Group H hopes that their leading scorer with 42 goals in 92 appearances can carry them throughout the competition.
I did pick Spain to come out on top of their group.
