Rooney Captain of England

Too bad Rooney is injured. Steve McLaren is now the manager of England which means Beckham might be replaced as the team’s captain as reported over at soccer blog.

This makes me wonder who will most likely replace Beckham? Rooney? He is the most likely heir to the position even though he is still very young; but because of his injury Steve might think otherwise. Steve might not have Rooney in the competition and that leaves giving Beckham as much confidence as possible to make those shots in the game.
