The Juve Sweep has started
It seems Juve Raid has started and luckily Real Madrid is getting a short term answer to their backline woes with no less than the superstar of Italy’s World Cup winning team — Fabio Cannavaro.
Real Madrid has already announced in their website that Juve players Fabio including Emerson is joining their former coach Fabio Capello to bring the same success they previously had before going to Real.
The unconfirmed fee of the transfer is in the range of £13.7million. Pretty big? Well, the money spent is worth up to the last cent knowing that your backline is as strong as the wall of China and financially will quickly be recovered if their bid is highly successful.
Is this a long-term goal given that Cannavaro is already 32 and Emerson at 30. Real coach Capello strongly believes that players can play effectively until the age of 35. That’s a lot of dreaming given the physical nature of the game unless these people become the best divers for the remainder of their career, which I feel they would not.
Looking at the other side, if the addition of veteran players give them lots of success then a long-term strategy is in place where the team’s value rises to mercurial status and puts them in a position to attract more talent than their usual counterparts.
We’ll see how it turns out, after all a couple of years just flies away swiftly.
