Zidane ain’t Done!
My eyes were wide open as he crushed my heart enroute to leading France in a win against Brazil in their quarterfinals game.
He was extremely good breaking down and making a mockery of Ze and Roberto’s youth by going past them, evading tackles, shifting dribbles, changing pace, making passes and setting the assist that threw a spear right through my heart.
First half alone gave you and indication of what to expect after the break. He had 39 passes completing 85% of them while Ronaldinho only made 10. It was scary seeing him playing like a guy in his middle 20’s knowing his array of skills and deadly field vision that could put France in the driver’s seat.
France went out in 2002 as Zidane was injured but today, he asserted himself showing the world what he can do if he’s healthy. He is set to retire after this competition but says he needs to more games? Whatever that is two more games is going to solidify claims by fans that he is the greatest player of this decade.
I am no fan of Zidane but I do respect his ability and after watching the game against Brazil, I can’t help but admit France deserved to win.
Brazil did not have a leader capable of competing at the same level as Zinedine. France made Brazil look like a bunch of high schoolers passing the ball rarely reaching it’s target safely primarily because of this guy.
Congratulations and I hope you reach the finals; though I would love to see Germany hoist the trophy, if Zidane takes his game against Brazil to another level then my heart would have to go with you.
Two more game and Zidane is Done!
