It was a Tight Decision and Thierry Henry Had to Go

Thierry Henry was left out as a finalist for FIFA World Player of the Year awards. But why? He may be a choker on big games but he certainly has led Arsenal and scored the goal against Brazil that helped them reach the finals.

Ronaldinho, Cannavaro and Zidane have made the short list and the winner shall be announced on Monday. Cannavaro has already won the European Player of the Year award which Arsene Wenger says is a mistake and the recognition should have gone to Thierry Henry.

Thierry has done a far better job against Cannavaro in the Champions league but the World Cup performance of Cannavaro is a feat that would stand for years to come.

If it wasn’t for Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry would have never scored that goal against Brazil. France was in the World Cup Finals primarily because of Zidane and not Henry.

Ronaldinho failed in the World Cup but his overall performance with Barca has been magnificent.
In the end, none of the four players can boast of a spectacular showing in both the FIFA World Cup Finals and the Champions League. It was a tough decision; in he end, it was Thierry Henry.
