How in the world could David Beckham play for England when Steve McLaren doesn’t like him a bit? Today is the best chance that David could be called up when Lennon is injured; but still no call was received.

Playing for MLS would not help him in his hopes and even a dominating performance would pale in comparison against an above average player in the Premiership. The backyard level in MLS has sealed his fate in England.

Before David leaves, he should have a send-off party with his former England boys because unless Steve is ditched because of his mediocre performance in the qualifiers, David is done.
