Beckham Retiring on Top
David Beckham said he plans to retire in the United States after his contract with Real Madrid.
Well, well, well. He isn’t going to have a Michael Jordan ending in his career — definitely not a pleasant finish in this World Cup. At least he gets to have a superstar ending by moving out to the far less competitive world of soccer — Northern America.
I would think that would be good for U.S. soccer. With the amount of resources they have, all they need is an ambassador of the sport that will increase its popularity and probably funding from different sectors.
A sleeping football superpower may awaken.
