Rhain Davis

Saturday, August 4th, 2007

Rhain Davis, 9-year old youngster, was signed by Manchester United after they were awed by the DVD containing his game highlights sent to the club by his grandfather.

Looking at the video, the player has got talent and matured skills reserved for 15 year old players. He is said to have the grace and moves of Robinho. That is a great comparison; nonetheless, the boy has got a lot of potential and whether he would be able to translate that into a footballing success remains to be seen.

Below is his video:

Robinho on Give Me the Goals

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Robinho BrazilRobinho is on a tear right now at Copa America where he currently lead all players with six goals. Against Chile, Robinho went to score in both half helping Brazil crush chaotic Chile.

It was bound to happen. Give me the goals seems to be the mindset of this 23 year old kid. People expected the Copa America is the time Kaka leads Brazil. In some ways Kaka still holds the light for the next generation of Brazilian squad; but for now, Robinho is the name on the leaderboard.

Brazil has regained their composure despite getting a disappointing loss at Copa America early on. It is still too early to tell, but with Robinho providing the scoring requirements to win every game, Brazil may defend their title and climb up the FIFA world rankings anew.

United Still Not Giving Up on Bale

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Gareth Bale has already decided to stay with Southampton but it seems Manchester United has other things in mind.

It is reported that they have increased their offer to £8 million to make sure he signs with them and fit their long-term plan on putting him on the left side of the midfield to play alongside Ryan Giggs and eventually replace him when he gets old.

Bale Staying After All

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Gareth Bale is staying at Southampton after his agent said his player is in no rush to leave the club. His agent was funny when he said he did not know what the fuzz was about because the player has 18 months left in his contract. No wonder Bale is not moving, he should look for another agent that could capitalize on so many big clubs who have shown interest in him.

Gareth Bale is Not Waiting Until Next Summer

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Gareth Bale is definitely not waiting until next summer to sign with a big club because they are already after him. Manchester United is the most attractive place for Gareth to gain his premiership experience and he is reported to make his decision in the next 48 hours.

Arsenal may slightly have the edge other than Manchester United because of Arsene Wenger’s reputation on helping young players develop and mature.

I think it would be a toss up between Manchester and Arsenal for Bale.

Adam Rooney is the highest rated youngster of Stoke City. He holds the record as the youngest Stoke to score a Senior hat-trick. The 19-year-old player has expressed his desire to get more playing time and told his manager that he would rather be on loan if he isn’t breaking the first team.

How about Chelsea Adam?

Adel Taarabt of French Racing Lens has made a good move by signing with Tottenham Hotspur and rejecting offers from Arsenal and Chelsea.

Daryll Duffy’s Stock Climbs

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Where will Daryll Duffy go? Scoring four goals in eight games at Pools have helped his stock climb high enough in time for the January transfer window.

The clubs hunting him down are Bristol City, Swansea City, Falkirk and Scottish premiership Hibernian.

In any case, I don’t think Daryll is going anywhere especially when Adam Boyd and Thomas Butler were already sold off. Danny Wilson of Hartlepool United has enough cash to secure Daryll to play more games with them. It would be foolish to let Daryll go with the way he is playing so far.
