Nakamura Shunsuke Philippe Troussier left Nakamura Shunsuke out in FIFA World Cup 2002!

Turning 28 in the 24th of June, he is going to prove he deserves to be on the team and since the start of the game against Australia he has been working hard showing he has the right to be there.

On the 26th minute of the Japan vs Australia game (Liveblogging here) Nakamura unleashed a difficult cross that sales over Schwarzer and shows why he is here.

Nakamura who scored the only goal so far is a talented playmaking midfielder whose passes and dead-ball skills are dangerous. He is one of the marked men in the Japanses squad.

Miroslav Klose

This was not an acid test game but this guy scoring two goals on Germany’s opening salvo is a morale boosting performance for his country.

The first goal from the left side was a quick shot beautifully executed coming on a pass from the right side box.

The second goal came on a pass from the left side deflected by the Ticos and luckily found a perfect angle on Mikoslav’s head. The Ticos saved the header but not the followup of Mikoslav.

Michael Ballack Is it Adrenaline of the hysteria happening just hours before the World Cup? Or is Michael Ballack just ready to play?

Coach Jurgen Klinsmann did not feel optimistic about Michael playing the in the first game after he broke off from training after half an hour to undergo intensive treatment.

World Cup 2006 is getting closer and closer each day. Let’s look at arguably the top ten goals of the tournament.

I got a little bored probably because I did not see my favorites Ronaldinho and Ronaldo in the video. At least the video got saved by the number one goal. (This is an advance posting.)

Profile: Kaka

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Kaka In this series of posts we shall look at the most promising young players who will soon capture our imagination and become the biggest stars of the game. As of this writing, Kaka has made it in the provisional team of Brazil. His place on the team is definitely secure. We continue with Kaka. (This is an advance posting.)

Zico explains that Kaka is “Brazil’s finest discovery”. He has the technique of a Brazilian and the physical qualities of a European.

“He’s a well-balanced, laid-back young man, who is not prone to either over-excitement or depression,” explains his coach Carlo Ancelotti with evident admiration. He is mentally very strong and already very mature beyond his years. I don’t think there’s much risk of him getting bigheaded. He is a great champion.”
