Florent Malouda on Let’s Tango Buddy
There were a lot of clubs willing to sign him. There were a lot of managers who spoke to him. There were so many fans waiting for him to play for their club.
In the end, it was all about dancing a tango with close friend Didier Drogba who was his team-mate at Guingamp.
Florent was reported to have signed with Chelsea for £13.5m.
As Malouda says: I felt everyone there wanted me to sign, but Didier pushed for it in particular and the manager wanted me too. I’d had a few people [from Liverpool] on the phone, particularly Rafael Benítez. But I got the impression that it was only him who really wanted me.
