Ambrovich is spending too much on his hobby with accumulated cost of £515m. For the last three years the club has lost £308m — £87.8m on the first year, £140m the following year, and £80.2m last year.
The club is in financial disaster and the only bright spot right now is their annual £11m shirt sponsorship deal with Samsung, £100m kit contract with Adidas and £50m a year TV media deal up until 2010.
The billionaire started to control funds during the January transfer window when he did not spend anything on any of Jose Mourinho’s request.
Selling the club right now might even bring Ambrovich marginal profits; but hanging on to his hobby plus another year of losses may no longer be recoverable in the foreeseable future.
