Leave Wayne’s Gambling

So what if Rooney owes $1.2 million in betting debts. For whatever it’s worth, he’s earning $105,000 a week at Manchester United and millions from sponsorship.

Wayne Rooney

Following Rooney’s game against Arsenal in the English Premier League where he scored one goal and set up another in their 2-0 win; he simply told the media to look at his performance to determine if he’s worried about the reports.

England coach, Eriksson, will be speaking to Rooney, together with those named in the Sunday Mirror article — Owen, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.

What the heck, media is always on the lookout for superstars who gamble. They always victimize stars with money. As always, their cheap news shot to earn money is a disgrace.

Why don’t the media report on gamblers who end up selling their assets, house, family and soul to the evil of gambling?

It’s not that I support gambling per se; but a penny out of what their earning isn’t that bad. Unless they gamble their games I don’t see anything wrong with that. The money they use to gamble also goes back to the economy and taxes.

As I said, I don’t support gambling and the players that gamble; what I don’t support is media picking up players who are doing exceptionally well. Go pick up gamblers whose family lives suffer because of that activity.
