Oliver Breaks the Silence

Oliver KahnHave you noticed Oliver Kahn’s expression on the bench despite Germany leading a goal, or despite winning?

Oliver breaks his silence and tells the media he is still owed an explanation by coach Juergen Klinsmann over his demotion from Germany’s starting lineup for the World Cup.

He goes on telling Der Spiegel magazine in an interview published Sunday:

“I will never be able to justify and understand why I am not the No. 1 still, Normally, I’d have expected a full explanation, But as there hasn’t been one up until now, there probably won’t be one.”

Though he stressed he did not want to spoil the atmosphere in the team but could not help but give his side.

Kahn said the only reason he heard about the decision is that Lehmann was supposedly playing a “tick” better.

“I’m sorry, but do you replace the one who’s been the No. 1 for years when he’s playing consistently because another keeper is supposed to be a “tick” better? That’s no justification for me,” he said.

“I’ve been playing right at the top level for the past two years,
I’ve done well in my Champions league games, won the German league
and German Cup twice, and have immense tournament experience.”

Kahn said that watching the games was a real challenge which is something I would understand given his previous role in the team.
