Ruud is Going to Bayern

Next to Christian Ronaldo’s media attention, Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been a hot topic for quite sometime with Manchester United boss Alex playing mind games with his aging striker and other teams who have expressed their need of the once great player who scored almost every other game he played.

Whatever love Alex is showing the striker through media interviews, Ruud is a card to be dealt out of Old Trafford for good.

The only thing the aging striker is waiting for is which team he shall finish his great career?

Real Madrid despite losing to Barcelona on their Juventus shopping looks like they have more pieces to come to complete a competitive lineup which makes it hard to believe they are going all out to get this aging striker whose brilliance have started to fade in his last season at Old Trafford.

Bayern on the other hand has been serious enough to get the services of one of only eight players to score 150 goals for Manchester.

The Bundesliga club believes the Holland striker is below the £15million asking price but nevertheless, honorary president Franz Beckenbauer is ready to give up Roy Makaay or Claudio Pizarro to accomodate Ruud. He has this to say: We are five million euros (£3.4million) away from Manchester United’s valuation but the chances are still high. But if it does work out, I could imagine us giving away Roy Makaay or Claudio Pizarro.

I hope Ruud ends up in Bayern rather than continue his relationship with the favored Christian Ronaldo and a star obsessed team in Real.

As it turns out, Van Nistelrooy has been reunited with Beckham at Real Madrid:

I can’t say this is the best of moves. The reason he, well one of, left Man Utd was because he faced stiff competition from Louis Saha and was no longer guaranteed a starting place.

At Real, it won’t be any different with the likes of Baptista, Robinho, Ronaldo, Raul etc. all vying for a place up-front.

Life would’ve been a lot easier for him had he chosen to join Bayern where competition for places aren’t as tough.
